Every distiller has their own way of distilling and refining their Vieille Prune. It is quite common for fruit extracts (such as dried plums, marinated in plum distillate) to be used, but that is not how we do things. Our Vieille Prune is as natural as possible, which is why the brandy matures in 225-litre Swiss oak barrels.
