The Silvaner or Johannisberg is the second most important white grape variety in Valais. It originally comes from the Rhine Valley in Germany. The Johannisberg absolutely thrives in the dry, sandy soils of the vineyard.

This wine goes well with asparagus, freshwater fish, terrines, sauerkraut garni, veal, pork or chicken in white sauce or soft cheese and as an aperitif wine.
Greenish-yellow colour. Floral, fruity aroma. Full-bodied and rich on the palate yet smooth and subtle at the same time.
