Grand Evec AOC Valais Visperterminen

Awarded

"Évêque", the French word for "bishop", pays homage to St. Theodore, the first bishop of Valais and patron saint of winemakers in the Rhône Valley.

The Pinot Noir is one of the first grapes to ever be cultivated in human history and is one of the world's most famous grape varieties. The climatic conditions in Visperterminen are ideal for growing this noble grape variety. The wine is aged in original French 225 oak barrels which help to perfectly showcase its first-class qualities. A robust red wine that is full of character.

Perfect pairings
This absolute classic in the world of premium red wines goes well with meat such as roast beef, goulash, lamb and horse meat, but is also a good match for game dishes (venison and wild boar) and a variety of speciality cheeses.

Tasting notes
Bright cherry red colour with hints of terracotta. The slightly smoky and roasted aroma, reminiscent of caramel, coffee, tonka beans, cocoa and dried fruit, is obtained thanks to the process of ageing the wine in oak barrels. The plum notes, typical of the Pinot Noir, are extremely smooth on the palate. Thanks to its healthy, ripe tannin, this wine has a beautiful, harmonious aftertaste.
